Mozilla Firefox is undoubtedly one of the most popular web browsers nowadays. Pale Moon is a 64-bit web browser based on Firefox’s open-source code. Its developers claim they have optimized the original code to run on 64-bit Windows versions.
Pale Moon’s interface is very similar to that of Firefox, yet not identical. Slight differences in the design of the Go Forward and Go Back buttons as well as in the color combination will not make a Firefox user feel strange. The basics are still the same: you can open pages in different tabs, and even some less visible aspects such as the menus look quite alike. One difference, however, is that there are two controls to group or list tabs.
The main differences between Firefox and Pale Moon are evidently hidden in the code. As it is based on the Firefox code, this application benefits from the characteristics that make it a very secure and fast browser. However, according to its developers, Pale Moon is faster than Firefox because it has been optimized to run on a specific operating system by eliminating redundant code. They claim this optimization makes their product more stable. However, to be honest, I did not notice any speed enhancement, so I checked some benchmarking results online. As a whole, the reports on Pale Moon’s browsing speed are favorable but they do not show significant figures, which means that the mere speed increase is not a reason for installing another browser. Although it supports most Firefox’s add-ons, some 32-bit extensions may not work properly so you will need to download their 64-bit versions. One of the drawbacks related to its dependence on Firefox’s code is that it may always lag behind it. This means that its developers should probably wait for a new Firefox version to be released before they can start working on a new Pale Moon version. Unfortunately, it had some problems installing it, and even worse, my antivirus identified one of its components as malware (it could be my AV’s fault, though). Once installed, it worked fine.
I suggest we keep an eye on Pale Moon because it has the potential to become a very powerful browser, but I should also alert you that the eventual release of an official 32-bit Mozilla Firefox version could render this project senseless.

Pale Moon is a fast, stable and customizable OpenSource browser with security options which other browsers didn't have (like the intern XSS filter).
From my side, I highly recommend Pale Moon!
Used to be good, but not anymore. Will look for a new alternative to Firefox.
