Pale Moon is a fast, lightweight, and stable web browser based on Mozilla Firefox source code. Pale Moon is also open source, so that you can use it for free and/or contribute to its development. Logically, Pale Moon and Mozilla Firefox look almost identical, and they offer almost the same set of features, like the way of managing bookmarks and downloads, the menu system, and many more.
Even though Mozilla Firefox and Pale Moon share most of the source code, some optimizations introduced in Pale Moon may make it look even better than Firefox does in several aspects. For example, some optional code that is always running in Firefox has been removed in Pale Moon, turning it lighter and, therefore, faster. Pale Moon's core has also been optimized to take full advantage of modern processor capabilities, giving you even more speed. In general terms, Pale Moon has been designed to maximize speed and stability.
Especially if you have some experience in working with Firefox, you will have no trouble using Pale Moon. Almost all the controls and commands are located in the same places in both browsers, although the latest visual changes introduced in Firefox have not been adopted by Pale Moon's developers yet. You can use most add-ons and themes available for Firefox, and in the same easy way. With Pale Moon, you can also browse the Web with the same security and privacy levels that you would get using Firefox. Pale Moon offers you password management with a master password configuration, private navigation, and secure HTTPS navigation with 128-bit and 256-bit encryption, just like Firefox or any other major web browser.
In a nutshell, Pale Moon could be easily considered an optimization of Mozilla Firefox in many aspects. By using Pale Moon, you will get all the services offered by Firefox, but with more speed and less crashes. The only downside I can find for Pale Moon is that – at least the way it has been designed so far – it will always depend on Mozilla Firefox’s new releases to advance in its own development.
It allows you to rename file name extensions for single or all files in folder

Pale Moon is a fast, stable and customizable OpenSource browser with security options which other browsers didn't have (like the intern XSS filter).
From my side, I highly recommend Pale Moon!
Used to be good, but not anymore. Will look for a new alternative to Firefox.
